Aloha








Aloha and welcome to our newest blog chronicling our Hawaiian Adventure!  Some of you may be aware and some may not so as a short history review:

We had been full time RVing for 11 years and for some time prior to that part-time.  We pretty much had been everywhere we wanted to (well except for Tahoe and Reno according to Les) and recently decided to try something different.  So we put the RV on consignment (sold in 3 weeks) and drove the Jeep to San Diego where we visited with Bill M for a bit, sold the Jeep, bought 2 one-way tickets to Honolulu and off we went.

We are currently renting a 2/2 in Ko Olina Kai Golf Estates in the Disney/4 Seasons/Marriott resort complex and spend our days relaxing, walking, lounging in the lagoon (there are 4 within walking distance) and generally enjoying one another.

Les wanted a vehicle so he selected a Cadillac XT4 crossover and although not new it only has 15k miles on it so it’s fairly new.  Boy have things changed because we have so much to learn to just operate the vehicle correctly!  We have not been brave enough yet to try to let it park itself but maybe in the next month or so.

We will be posting some photos and as the time goes by I do hope I will be more regular in posting any little stories and pictures.  I do need to thank Peter for giving me the impetus to GOYA and actually get this done!  Warm Aloha for now….

    Sounds like you’re having a blast. So happy for you both that you get to travel and explore and having a great time doing it. Can’t wait to go on this adventure with you. Love the updates and pics!!!❤️

    Aloha from Pittsburgh. Don’t know if my name will show up as it didn’t let me select a profile, so maybe I’ll just be Unknown Google. We lost power about 27 hours ago and have no idea when we’ll get it back. To make it even more fun, a telephone pole and tree branches are blocking the road connecting us to the outside world, so we’re stuck here till it’s cleared. I trust you’re having more fun than we are. Be well. 😊

  Aloha, it’s us again!     WARNING:     This is a long post with lots of photos so be prepared! We welcomed our grandson, Keegan (15) to Oahu with a Kukui Nut Lei.    He took a non stop flight from Atlanta and we applaud him for being able to get through a 9 1/2 hour flight.    The flights from the mainland are long, no matter where you come from and we equate it to ripping off a bandaid, just do it and the healing (and fun) begins. We will start with an overhead map of the condo we moved to. In keeping with the Aloha spirit I tried very hard not to over schedule him.    We visited, ate, and gave him the lay of the condo unit.    He loves to walk so on go the headphones and music and off he went most days.    He took advantage of the on site gym most days before a “light” breakfast of 4 eggs, 3 slices of toast 5-6 slices of bacon and a banana.    Geez I was full just watching him devour his meals....

HMS (oh its not what you think)

  Aloha from our cozy nest in Ko Olina!     We are recovering from nasty head colds over the past 3 weeks.     One thing we have learned quickly is that because Hawaii has consistently topical weather and also welcomes tourists from all over the world Hawaii also has a year round flu, virus, rsv and cold season.     So another experience we have had. Towards the end of April we attended our first (and hopefully many) event at the theater in Honolulu.    We attended a Saturday matinee of Tina Turner, The Musical and it was wonderful.    I had memories of the theater in NYC and Boston fighting traffic, jostling for a parking spot or finding a garage and long lines to gain admission.    Well this wasn’t that!    We valet parked since we were not familiar with the area (yet) and it was a stone’s throw from the entry, smooth and efficient.    Anyway I digress…I’m pretty sure we picked up something from atten...
