Holiday Season 2025

Mele Kalikimaka …Merry Christmas…Feliz Navidad Aloha and for those following the blog an update on the refrigerator saga…new delivery date should be mid January.    Apparently they must be custom making this refrigerator and shipping it in a custom made crate hahaha.    But I digress. December has been busy thus far with the local Hawaii Kai Parade which was fun especially since we just walked out of the condo with our chairs to the road and set up camp across from the fire station.    It was fun and very “homey” with local politicians and the Honolulu Mayor marching and passing out candy canes.    I’ll post a few pictures.    Then we were treated by the Condo Association/Property Management to a party for everyone.    It was super fun with plenty of food, desserts and activities for the Keiki (pronounced Kay kee) which means children.    Admittedly Les and I did participate in the Photo Booth and I’ll also pos...

Hau`oli La Ho`omaika`i …Happy Thanksgiving

Aloha and apologies for being silent for so long.     Hard to believe that from me!     After grandson left in the latter part of July we got back to business, getting the condo in order for us.     We had just moved in mid-June and since we were occupied with Keegan we didn’t have a lot of time to get it customized for us.     We also had a recall on the car so that took a day out of the schedule.     Hair cuts, manicures, flu shots and all the every day have to get accomplished tasks followed.     In between you can be sure we packed our lunch and our chairs and headed for the beach.  I’ll start with a rainbow and end with our evening view. In mid October we were lucky to meet some soon to be new friends, hailing from New England. They visited the island to celebrate their 25th anniversary. We were introduced via email by a mutual friend in Massachusetts.    They seemed to have a terrific time exploring and we...

Aloha, it’s us again!     WARNING:     This is a long post with lots of photos so be prepared! We welcomed our grandson, Keegan (15) to Oahu with a Kukui Nut Lei.    He took a non stop flight from Atlanta and we applaud him for being able to get through a 9 1/2 hour flight.    The flights from the mainland are long, no matter where you come from and we equate it to ripping off a bandaid, just do it and the healing (and fun) begins. We will start with an overhead map of the condo we moved to. In keeping with the Aloha spirit I tried very hard not to over schedule him.    We visited, ate, and gave him the lay of the condo unit.    He loves to walk so on go the headphones and music and off he went most days.    He took advantage of the on site gym most days before a “light” breakfast of 4 eggs, 3 slices of toast 5-6 slices of bacon and a banana.    Geez I was full just watching him devour his meals....
