Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai’i
Aloha June and as we bid farewell to May, we recap a couple of experiences. I had been excited, for the past 2 weeks, about the May 26th Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai’i ceremony. We were able to secure garage parking for 4 hours for $7 and packed some snacks and our blanket and staked out our viewing spot at Ala Moana Beach Park. At the time we planned on going we decided to honor “Aunt” Louise LaFontaine who was quite ill in Massachusetts by placing her name and a message on one of the lanterns. Little did we know that she would pass away the morning of the ceremony so it made it even more special for us to attend.
